Camping

The camping trip was fun. A lot of packing, but worth it. We got to the campground around 2. We decided to cut up the melons and prep some other food so that it would be done for the weekend. When my sister arrived, I thought we should set up the tent. That way we wouldn't be doing it in the dark. Did I mention that it was about 100 degrees? Well she would have liked to beat me with those poles for putting it up in all the heat!

After setting up the tent, we took the kids swimming. The water in the pool felt sooo good! It was a wonderful evening of relaxing, visiting and eating. The next morning dawned cloudy. No water park. It rained off and on the whole day and night. Yuck!

Thankfully, kids are resourceful and can make the best of any situation. Bubby discovered that the playground made into a "waterpark" when it was raining. The "waterslide" went really fast. The kids spent several hours playing on the "waterpark" and were soaked. They had fun in spite of the rain.

Later in the afternoon, a big storm blew in complete with lightening and thunder. Time to head inside. There were 11 of us in the camper (condo on wheels). Overall, the kids did really well. They watched TV, some rested and we played a couple of games. After about 3 hours though, we were getting stir crazy. Thank God, the rain stopped for a few hours and we were able to get out for a while.

We took the kids to the arcade. Of course they had fun there. After our money ran out, we made it back to the camp site and into bed just as a big downpour started.

We all slept well. Nobody slept in the tent as it was soaked from all the rain. The Baby didn't mind any of it. She was tuckered out!
Saturday started out sunny, we thought maybe we'd make it to the waterpark, but no. By 8 am it was cloudy again. So we packed up and headed home. I think we'll try it again in a couple of weeks. It's fun over there, rain and all!
